The premise of The Boy Friend, explained
At its core, The Boy Friend follows a story that unfolds like this: When the leading lady of a low-budget musical revue sprains her ankle, the assistant stage manager is forced to understudy and perform in her place.
What sets it apart is how it treats its music, comedy, and romance elements not as decoration but as the engine of the plot. The tagline — "A glittering super colossal heart warming toe-tapping continuously delightful musical extravaganza!" — captures that tone perfectly.
