Little Shop of Horrors plot and story overview
At its core, Little Shop of Horrors follows a story that unfolds like this: Seymour Krelborn is a nerdy orphan working at Mushnik's, a flower shop in urban Skid Row. He harbors a crush on fellow co-worker, Audrey Fulquard, and is berated by Mr. Mushnik daily. One day, Seymour finds a very mysterious unidentified plant which he calls Audrey II. The plant seems to have a craving for blood and soon begins to sing for its supper.
The pacing rewards patient viewers, layering small details that pay off later. The tagline — "A singing plant. A daring hero. A sweet girl. A demented dentist. It's the most outrageous musical comedy in years." — captures that tone perfectly. For a frame-by-frame breakdown, the dedicated Wikipedia entry and IMDb trivia pages are excellent companions.
