Whether you are a longtime fan or discovering it for the first time, Thousands Cheer rewards viewers who know what to look for. Rated 6.4/10 from 21 viewers, it lands as a solid entry in the genre. Below you'll find an honest look at the story, the people behind it, and whether it deserves a spot in your queue.
The premise of Thousands Cheer, explained
At its core, Thousands Cheer follows a story that unfolds like this: Acrobat Eddie Marsh is in the army now. His first act is to become friendly with Kathryn Jones, the colonel's pretty daughter. Their romance hits a few snags, including disapproval from her father. Eddie's also plagued by fear of having an accident during his family's trapeze act in the army variety show, which also features a gallery of MGM stars.
Rather than rushing, the film lets tension build naturally, trusting the audience to keep up. The tagline — "LOVE STORY of an army camp" — captures that tone perfectly. For a frame-by-frame breakdown, the dedicated Wikipedia entry and IMDb trivia pages are excellent companions.
