What is The Green Slime about?
The Green Slime centers on a premise that unfolds like this: A giant asteroid is heading toward Earth so some astronauts disembark from a nearby space station to blow it up. The mission is successful, and they return to the station unknowingly bringing back a gooey green substance that mutates into one-eyed tentacled monsters that feed off electricity. Soon the station is crawling with them, and people are being zapped left and right!
What sets it apart is how it treats its science fiction and horror elements not as decoration but as the engine of the plot. The tagline — "The Green Slime are coming!" — captures that tone perfectly. For a frame-by-frame breakdown, the dedicated Wikipedia entry and IMDb trivia pages are excellent companions.
