The premise of The Four Days of Naples, explained
The Four Days of Naples centers on a premise that unfolds like this: September 1943. After Italy surrenders to the Allies, people in Naples believe the war is finally over, but soon they realize Germans are still in control — and as ruthless as ever. Armed with makeshift weapons, civilians rise up en masse against the invaders — and overwhelming odds.
Rather than rushing, the film lets tension build naturally, trusting the audience to keep up. The tagline — "Stunning! Brilliant! Stirring! Scorching! Epic!" — captures that tone perfectly. For a frame-by-frame breakdown, the dedicated Wikipedia entry and IMDb trivia pages are excellent companions.
