Whether you are a longtime fan or discovering it for the first time, Creature rewards viewers who know what to look for. Led by Stan Ivar and Wendy Schaal, the film balances spectacle with character. Below you'll find an honest look at the story, the people behind it, and whether it deserves a spot in your queue.
Creature plot and story overview
The narrative of Creature unfolds like this: A crew of scientists arrives on a far, cold planet to examine archaic artifacts of unknown origin. They discover that their German enemies already have a ship there. When they seek their help after a failed landing, they only find the Germans’ bodies, obviously slaughtered by one of the archaic creatures, awoken to new life. Now the alien is after them.
Rather than rushing, the film lets tension build naturally, trusting the audience to keep up. The tagline — "It's been sleeping peacefully on a moon of Saturn for 2000 centuries ... until now!" — captures that tone perfectly.
