Abbott and Costello Go to Mars

Abbott and Costello Go to Mars centers on a premise that unfolds like this: Lester and Orville accidentally launch a rocket which is supposed to fly to Mars. Instead it goes to New Orleans for Mardi Gras. They are then forced by bank robber Mugsy and his pal Harry to fly to Venus where they find a civilization made up entirely of women, men having been banished.

What sets it apart is how it treats its comedy and science fiction elements not as decoration but as the engine of the plot. The tagline — "They're too wild for one world!" — captures that tone perfectly. For a frame-by-frame breakdown, the dedicated Wikipedia entry and IMDb trivia pages are excellent companions.
