The premise of 9 Kisses, explained
At its core, 9 Kisses follows a story that unfolds like this: "9 Kisses" is a 2014 New York Times Magazine project featuring nine artistic short films where top actors of the year pair up for intimate, staged smooches. Directed by Elaine Constantine, these roughly minute-long clips range from romantic to awkward, showcasing diverse famous pairings in public night settings.
What sets it apart is how it treats its comedy, romance, and music elements not as decoration but as the engine of the plot. The tagline — "The 18 most prominent actors of 2014 pair up in a series of intimate encounters." — captures that tone perfectly.
