Few crime, mystery, and war & politics titles spark as much curiosity as Traitor. Below is a deep dive into what makes it worth your time. Directed by Asaph Polonsky, the project blends crime, mystery, and war & politics into something that lingers long after the credits. Read on for the full plot overview, the cast and crew, critical reception, and answers to the questions fans ask most.
The premise of Traitor, explained
Traitor centers on a premise that unfolds like this: After a flight from Tel Aviv to Bangkok vanishes in mid-air, with no signs of an explosion, crash or hijacking, the entire world is left mesmerised. Yonatan Georgy is a recently blind intelligence officer returning to work, tasked with investigating the plane's disappearance - with his wife and children on board. At the same time, families of the passengers start realising they didn't know their loved ones as well as they thought.
What sets it apart is how it treats its crime, mystery, and war & politics elements not as decoration but as the engine of the plot. Themes of ambition, loyalty, and consequence run throughout.
