Few action & adventure, animation, drama, sci-fi & fantasy, and war & politics titles spark as much curiosity as Mobile Suit Gundam 00. Below is a deep dive into what makes it worth your time. Rated 7.7/10 from 62 viewers, it lands as a strong entry in the genre. Below you'll find an honest look at the story, the people behind it, and whether it deserves a spot in your queue.
What is Mobile Suit Gundam 00 about?
At its core, Mobile Suit Gundam 00 follows a story that unfolds like this: The year is 2307 A.D. Although fossil fuels have been depleted, humanity has obtained a new source of energy to replace them, in the form of a large-scale solar power generation system based on three huge orbital elevators. However, the benefits of this system are available only to a handful of major powers and their allies. In this world of never-ending conflict, a private armed organization appears, dedicated to the elimination of war through armed force. Its name is Celestial Being, and it is in possession of "Gundam" mobile suits.
What sets it apart is how it treats its action & adventure, animation, drama, sci-fi & fantasy, and war & politics elements not as decoration but as the engine of the plot. Themes of ambition, loyalty, and consequence run throughout. For a frame-by-frame breakdown, the dedicated Wikipedia entry and IMDb trivia pages are excellent companions.
