Few western and drama titles spark as much curiosity as Tucson. Below is a deep dive into what makes it worth your time. Rated 7.5/10 from 2 viewers, it lands as a strong entry in the genre. Below you'll find an honest look at the story, the people behind it, and whether it deserves a spot in your queue.
What is Tucson about?
Tucson centers on a premise that unfolds like this: The story of Andy Bryant, a University of Arizona student whose grades suffer because of his preoccupation with an upcoming intercollegiate rodeo. Andy's father is more interested in embarrassing a rival at the rodeo than he is with his son's academic progress. When his lack of focus nearly causes a tragic accident in the university chemistry lab, Andy decides to hunker down and study.
Rather than rushing, the film lets tension build naturally, trusting the audience to keep up. The tagline — "THE GREAT SOUTHWEST IS THE ALL-AMERICAN CAMPUS NOW..." — captures that tone perfectly. For a frame-by-frame breakdown, the dedicated Wikipedia entry and IMDb trivia pages are excellent companions.
