The Vault of Horror plot and story overview
The Vault of Horror centers on a premise that unfolds like this: The sequel to Tales from the Crypt. Five strangers trapped in a basement vault converse about their recurring nightmares. Their stories include vampires, bodily dismemberment, east Indian mysticism, an insurance scam, and an artist who kills by painting his victims' deaths.
Rather than rushing, the film lets tension build naturally, trusting the audience to keep up. The tagline — "Everything that makes life worth leaving!" — captures that tone perfectly. For a frame-by-frame breakdown, the dedicated Wikipedia entry and IMDb trivia pages are excellent companions.
