Whether you are a longtime fan or discovering it for the first time, The Supergrass rewards viewers who know what to look for. Led by Adrian Edmondson and Jennifer Saunders, the film balances spectacle with character. Keep scrolling for a spoiler-light synopsis, performance highlights, and streaming details.
The premise of The Supergrass, explained
At its core, The Supergrass follows a story that unfolds like this: While taking a holiday in the country with his mother, Dennis hits on a scheme to impress a girl so that she'll go away on a trip with him as his girlfriend. Although he fails to gain any interest from the girl, the police take a great interest in his story. From this point on, Dennis digs a deeper hole for himself at every turn
What sets it apart is how it treats its comedy elements not as decoration but as the engine of the plot. The tagline — "Dennis makes me wanna kill myself, but I'm scared I'll burn in hell if I do ~Harvey" — captures that tone perfectly.
