Led by Lee Grant and Carol Kane, the film balances spectacle with character. Keep scrolling for a spoiler-light synopsis, performance highlights, and streaming details.
The premise of The Mafu Cage, explained
At its core, The Mafu Cage follows a story that unfolds like this: Two strange sisters live in a crumbling mansion, where they keep a pet ape, which belonged to their late father, locked in a cage. While one of the sisters seems to be keeping her head on straight, as it were, the other appears to be sinking further and further into barbarism and insanity.
What sets it apart is how it treats its thriller and horror elements not as decoration but as the engine of the plot. The tagline — "A terrifying love story." — captures that tone perfectly.
