The premise of The Kiss of the Vampire, explained

Doctor Ravna, owner of the impressive chateau that sits imposingly above the village, invites them to dinner that evening. Their association with Ravna and his charming, beautiful family is to prove disastrous.
Rather than rushing, the film lets tension build naturally, trusting the audience to keep up. The tagline — "Shocking! - Horrifying! - Macabre!" — captures that tone perfectly. For a frame-by-frame breakdown, the dedicated Wikipedia entry and IMDb trivia pages are excellent companions.
