What is The Boondock Saints about?
At its core, The Boondock Saints follows a story that unfolds like this: Tired of the crime overrunning the streets of Boston, Irish Catholic twin brothers Conner and Murphy are inspired by their faith to cleanse their hometown of evil with their own brand of zealous vigilante justice. As they hunt down and kill one notorious gangster after another, they become controversial folk heroes in the community. But Paul Smecker, an eccentric FBI agent, is fast closing in on their blood-soaked trail.
What sets it apart is how it treats its action, thriller, and crime elements not as decoration but as the engine of the plot. The tagline — "Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done." — captures that tone perfectly. For a frame-by-frame breakdown, the dedicated Wikipedia entry and IMDb trivia pages are excellent companions.
