The cop investigating is out to solve the crime before his ex wife, a reporter, becomes the next victim.
What sets it apart is how it treats its crime and thriller elements not as decoration but as the engine of the plot. The tagline — "A financial wizard takes death into account." — captures that tone perfectly.
