What is Tell Your Children about?
Tell Your Children centers on a premise that unfolds like this: High-school principal Dr. Alfred Carroll relates to an audience of parents that marijuana can have devastating effects on teens: a drug supplier entices several restless teens, Mary and Jimmy Lane, sister and brother, and Bill, Mary's boyfriend, into frequenting a reefer house. Gradually, Bill and Jimmy are drawn into smoking dope, which affects their family lives.
What sets it apart is how it treats its drama elements not as decoration but as the engine of the plot. The tagline — "Public enemy no. 1. Women cry for it… Men will die for it!" — captures that tone perfectly. For a frame-by-frame breakdown, the dedicated Wikipedia entry and IMDb trivia pages are excellent companions.
