The premise of In the Shadow of the Moon, explained
At its core, In the Shadow of the Moon follows a story that unfolds like this: Archival material from the original NASA film footage – much of it seen for the first time – plus interviews with the surviving astronauts, including Jim Lovell, Dave Scott, John Young, Gene Cernan, Mike Collins, Buzz Aldrin, Alan Bean, Edgar Mitchell, Charlie Duke and Harrison Schmitt.
Rather than rushing, the film lets tension build naturally, trusting the audience to keep up. The tagline — "Remember when the whole world looked up." — captures that tone perfectly. For a frame-by-frame breakdown, the dedicated Wikipedia entry and IMDb trivia pages are excellent companions.
