What is Harum Scarum about?
Harum Scarum centers on a premise that unfolds like this: Johnny Tyronne, action movie star and ladies' man, is traveling through the Middle East on a goodwill tour to promote his latest film. Upon arrival, however, he's kidnapped by a gang of assassins so impressed with his cinematic adventures that they want him to carry out an assassination for them.
Rather than rushing, the film lets tension build naturally, trusting the audience to keep up. The tagline — "1001 Swingin' nights as ELVIS brings the Big Beat to Bagdad in a riotous, rockin' rollin' adventure spoof!!!" — captures that tone perfectly.
