Fevers

Fevers centers on a premise that unfolds like this: Benjamin is at war: with life, with adults, with himself. From his earliest childhood onwards, the 13-year old has been shunted from one care home to another. When his mother has to go to prison, he is sent to his father, whom he has never known. The man turns out to be a dead loss, a warehouseman who's given up on life, a man in his mid-40s who still lives with his Moroccan parents in a high-rise block in the banlieue. Benjamin's turbulence and violence soon prove too much for his new family.

Rather than rushing, the film lets tension build naturally, trusting the audience to keep up. Themes of ambition, loyalty, and consequence run throughout. For a frame-by-frame breakdown, the dedicated Wikipedia entry and IMDb trivia pages are excellent companions.

Fevers is anchored by Didier Michon, Slimane Dazi, Farida Amrouche, and Emilia Derou-Bernal, working under the direction of Hicham Ayouch. Each performance brings a different texture to the film.

The script comes from Aicha Yacoubi and Hafed Benotman, whose writing keeps the dialogue sharp. You can trace the full credits and filmographies on IMDb and TMDB.

Fevers currently holds a 6.9/10 audience score based on 11 ratings, a solid mark that signals broad appeal beyond just genre die-hards. For a fuller picture, cross-reference scores on IMDb, Rotten Tomatoes, and Metacritic before deciding.
