Epic Movie (2007) has become one of the most talked-about comedy, adventure, and fantasy films, and this guide covers everything you need before you press play. Directed by Jason Friedberg, the project blends comedy, adventure, and fantasy into something that lingers long after the credits. Below you'll find an honest look at the story, the people behind it, and whether it deserves a spot in your queue.
What is Epic Movie about?
At its core, Epic Movie follows a story that unfolds like this: When the Pevensie siblings each follow their own path, they find themselves at Willy's Chocolate Factory. Walking through a wardrobe, they discover the world of Gnarnia, ruled by the White Bitch. Meeting up with characters such as Harry Potter and Captain Jack Swallows, the newly reunited family must team up with Aslo, a wise-but-horny lion to stop the White Bitch's army.
What sets it apart is how it treats its comedy, adventure, and fantasy elements not as decoration but as the engine of the plot. The tagline — "We know it's big. We measured." — captures that tone perfectly. For a frame-by-frame breakdown, the dedicated Wikipedia entry and IMDb trivia pages are excellent companions.
