What is Duck and Cover about?
At its core, Duck and Cover follows a story that unfolds like this: An instructional short aimed at school-aged children of the early 1950s that combines animation and live-action footage with voice-over narration to explain what to do to increase their chances of surviving the blast from an atomic bomb.
What sets it apart is how it treats its animation and family elements not as decoration but as the engine of the plot. The tagline — "Bert the Turtle says duck and cover." — captures that tone perfectly. For a frame-by-frame breakdown, the dedicated Wikipedia entry and IMDb trivia pages are excellent companions.
