Inside the story of Children of Men
At its core, Children of Men follows a story that unfolds like this: In 2027, in a chaotic world in which humans can no longer procreate, a former activist agrees to help transport a miraculously pregnant woman to a sanctuary at sea, where her child's birth may help scientists save the future of humankind.
Rather than rushing, the film lets tension build naturally, trusting the audience to keep up. The tagline — "The year 2027: the last days of the human race. No child has been born for 18 years. He must protect our only hope." — captures that tone perfectly. For a frame-by-frame breakdown, the dedicated Wikipedia entry and IMDb trivia pages are excellent companions.
