Big Kids

At its core, Big Kids follows a story that unfolds like this: Yannick is a caregiver in a retirement home. Between permanent pressure and budget restrictions, he faces the lack of means with a contagious good mood. But when he is forced to share the dining room with a class of children, the situation becomes complicated. Their arrival, as well as that of his hostess, Aude, will shake up the daily life of everyone, especially the residents.

What sets it apart is how it treats its comedy and drama elements not as decoration but as the engine of the plot. Themes of ambition, loyalty, and consequence run throughout. For a frame-by-frame breakdown, the dedicated Wikipedia entry and IMDb trivia pages are excellent companions.

Big Kids is anchored by Vincent Macaigne, Aïssa Maïga, Marie Gillain, and Carole Franck, working under the direction of Eric Métayer. Casting is half the battle, and this ensemble pulls its weight.

The script comes from Andréa Bescond, whose writing keeps the dialogue sharp. You can trace the full credits and filmographies on IMDb and TMDB.
