Few family and drama titles spark as much curiosity as Anne of Green Gables. Below is a deep dive into what makes it worth your time. Directed by Kevin Sullivan, the project blends family and drama into something that lingers long after the credits. Below you'll find an honest look at the story, the people behind it, and whether it deserves a spot in your queue.
What is Anne of Green Gables about?
Anne of Green Gables centers on a premise that unfolds like this: Anne Shirley, an orphan, is fostered by farmer Matthew Cuthbert and his sister Marilla, who were expecting a boy to be sent them to help with their farm work. They accept Anne, who quickly endears herself to them and to the local villagers.
What sets it apart is how it treats its family and drama elements not as decoration but as the engine of the plot. The tagline — "Go back to the day that Anne was waiting at the train station..." — captures that tone perfectly.
